Hillary Clinton for President
There are many reasons why the people of the United States should give serious consideration to the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton for President. For starters, she was one of the most active first ladies in U.S. history and was an adviser and participant in the political campaigns and terms of office of her husband Bill Clinton when he was Governor of Arkansas in 1979-1981 and 1983-1992.
Hillary has always been a strong woman in her own right with good leadership skills. She is the only former first lady to be elected to public office when she was elected in 2000 to represent the State of New York in the United States Senate.
A graduate of Wellesley College, she was born Hillary Diane Rodham on October 26, 1947 in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge. Hillary met Bill Clinton at Yale University where she earned a law degree. Both Hillary and Bill were members of the faculty at the University of Arkansas Law School in Fayetteville. They were married in 1975 and have a daughter named Chelsea.
Hillary joined the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1977 and remained with the firm until Bill Clinton was elected President in 1992 and they then, of course, moved to the White House.
Mrs. Clinton has always had a deep interest in underprivileged and neglected children. She served as National Chairperson of the Children's Defense Fund which promotes child welfare. Additionally, she played a leading role in reforming the Arkansas Public School System. In 1996, she wrote a book “It Takes A Village” which called for community participation in helping children.
Hillary Clinton's concern for the welfare and well-being of American children overrides politics. To this end, she has joined with Conservative Republican Senators Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and Sam Brownback of Kansas. Joining the trio is Conservative Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. The group is requesting $90 million in Federal funds for a study of how the electronic media (the Internet, Ipods, etc.) affect the emotions and behavior of children.
She believes in the legality of abortion but wants to pursue solutions toward reducing the high rate of unplanned pregnancies. Consequently, her goal is to bring both sides of the abortion debate to common ground so that a mutually-agreeable solution can be attained.
Hillary Clinton's extremely loyal Liberalist following allows her more leeway than most Democrats in adapting progressive ideas and principles. She is viewed by a supporting public as a Commonsense Liberal.
As we are all aware, health care in the United States is nonexistent for many people. Hillary is intent on reshaping and solving the nation's health care issues. On this front, she is strongly supported by a vast majority of Americans.
The American people are in dire need of a change in our Government. We need a person in the White House who is more understanding and more in touch with the people. We need a woman in the Oval Office and Hillary Clinton is the woman for the job.
